Shannon, Christy and Dana - Walking in Seattle for the Ladies
Thanks to all who attended the "Bowling for Breasts" bowling party at Leilani Lanes. It was a huge success - we raised $700 for our walk! Also, thanks to Stacia's Pizza for their generous donation of 10 pizzas to feed our hungry bowlers!
---------------------------------------- We are three college friends who decided we wanted to take on a challenge, both for ourselves and others. We signed up for the Avon 3-Day, in Seattle, which consists of a 3-Day, 60 Mile walk and the goal of raising $1,900 each, or $5,700, which will go toward breast cancer prevention and treatment for women with a low-income. There are two challenges in this endeavor: training for and walking 60 miles over a three day period of time and raising almost $2,000 each by mid-July. The walk is one of many all over the nation which are sponsored by the Avon Products Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, that promotes events for charitable purposes. The Seattle course runs from Enumclaw into Seattle and is said to be an amazing experience. Any donation you can give will help women in our country who are bravely battling breast cancer and help three old friends get closer to their goal of participating in the Avon 3-Day in Seattle. Donations can be made at http://www.bethepeople.com/donations/online.html under our names. Thanks so much, Shannon Valderas, Participant #3573 Dana Carson, Participant #3553 Christy Vogt, Participant #3961 (Seattle Walk Event Code: 3DSE-2002) |
